Big agility weekend! On Saturday, Truffle and Russet went to their very first pre-novice trial at Canine New England.
Truffle went on a zoomies side quest in her first ACT1 standard run and NQ’ed, but came back strong to win her class in the second run. Pending AKC approval, she titled in ACT1 jumpers and ACT2 jumpers.
Russet was, on brand, a consistently good boy, and qualified in all six of his runs for ACT1, ACT1J, and ACT2J.

Most importantly, they both had so much fun (even Russet, despite his face in the pictures) and have clearly been bitten by the agility bug. My favorite part of the day was when they would chest bump each other after they ran. “Did you do the thing?” “I did, did you?” *SLAM*
Truffle then graduated her beginner class at Fit-N-Trim Dog Sport Training on Sunday. Lots to work on and excited for our next steps.

New to agility? ACT (Agility Course Test) is an entry-level program designed to introduce dogs and handlers to AKC competition. A Q is a qualifying run; an NQ means the run didn’t qualify, usually due to a fault. The numbered levels (ACT1, ACT2) and class types (Standard, Jumpers, “J” for jumpers) indicate progression and course style.
